Well, the mess that was the 3M Open is in the books and we head to a week with 2 tournaments. We have a loaded WGC field for the St. Jude Invitational and then the alternate site event with the Barracuda Championship. The guys will both be making 2 picks this week and there could be a lot of money changing hands. Let’s see who the guys like at this week’s PGA Tour action with the weekly PGA OAD Picks.

Kevin (@JunkiesDelight) – Marc Leishman & Sam Ryder

Ahh, the chance to double-dip and I’ll try to play for a few skins…or so I hope.  Harry English did ok for me at 3M but nothing special.

This week I’ll go Marc LEISHMAN at WGC and Sam Ryder near Tahoe.  Both should be low owned and both could have nice weeks.  LEISHMAN has been shit since the restart and Ryder can fill the cup with birdies.

Jesse (@DFSGolfGods) – Xander Schauffele & Sam Burns

I really don’t wanna talk about the Bizarro 3M Open last week.  My pick missed the cut and a shit show occurred.  This week we “get” to double-dip on the picks.  For the Barracuda I’m going with Sam Burns, who’s made 4 straight cuts on tour and should be able to compete pretty well in this field.  For the WGC St Jude, I will be using “no cut specialist” (LOL) Xander Schauffele.  He finished 24th in this event last year and has played some good golf lately with 3 straight top 20s and 2 top 15s in a row.  Best of luck!

Ruvy (@MichaelRuvolo) – Brooks Koepka & Sam Burns

Well, I got suckered into crappy putting Paul Casey last week. On a bit of a cold streak but whatever I’ll keep throwing bullets! We get 2 picks this week with the alternate field event so Ill go with the BArracuda championship first.

I’m a Sam Burns truther and there is no debating that. I’m going all-in on him this week at the Barracuda. I’ll be doubling him with other tours. He is a very good par 5 scorer and with the modified Stableford scoring this week eagles are rewarded very handsomely. Give me Sam Burns also for the OAD after his very good round Sunday to finish the 3M Open.

For the WGC it’s a no-cut event so taking any player will get you some points. I’m going to a big dog. Koepka has not had good results lately, but he didn’t play that bad this last week. He gained over 5 strokes tee to green. Last year he putted the lights out here and went on to win. I usually don’t like backing guys who won the year before, but we all know Koepka is a different player. I’ll back him here.

Rob (@AllDayEvery365) – Webb Simpson & Mattias Schwab

Simpson continues to be one of the best players in the world that nobody wants to talk about. His MC at the Memorial including his second-worst measured tournament ever in terms of SG: Approach, but he was still able to gain off the tee and putting. He goes back to a place where he can putt again on Bermuda and had a second-place finish in 2019. I’ll take his recent play of gaining birdies in three straight, even with the MC, as we head into a no-cut event.

Bubba (@bdentrek) – Matthew Fitzpatrick & Richy Werenski

Fitzpatrick is coming off a stretch of golf that can stack up with the best of them. His last time out we saw a strong 3rd place finish at the Memorial in very tough conditions. We’ve seen Fitzpatrick perform well in strong fields including a Top 5 finish here last season. The key to success this week will be accuracy off the tee and a strong approach game, 2 things Fitzpatrick checks off the list. Let’s get some Fitzmagic this week.

As we head to beautiful Truckee, California it really stinks we can’t have fans at this event. It’s a relatively strong field for the Barracuda and would be some great in-person viewing. They are at a new course, a beautiful course, and a course they should have their way with if they don’t spray it off the tee box. The winner will need to rack up those birdies so I will ride the hot hand of Richy Werenski. Coming off a strong finish at the 3M and many Top 30 finishes in the previous weeks.
