Was last weekend not a wild card or what??? Holy shit! I didn’t have time to get a write-up out, but man, it was wild from both a DFS and betting perspective. Anyways, on to this Saturday, honestly not the best card on tap this weekend but there are a few interesting fights on the card and some solid fighters to target.
I can see many targeting Adrian Yanez at $9100, but I honestly don’t see him paying off his price tag. I do however think that the two top-priced fighters will. Luana Pinheiro ($9300) will be taking on Sam Hughes, and I believe Luana will score well with takedowns, control time, and possibly a finish. I just don’t see anything in Hughes’ arsenal that will give Pinheiro a problem.
Taila Santos ($9200) is coming off an impressive victory over Roxanne Modafferi. Her opponent, Joanne Wood (Calderwood), has a ton of UFC experience, but she’s been up and down, and honestly, I think she’s on the downslope of her career. Jojo has had her moments, don’t get me wrong, but Taila is just a bad matchup for her and I think she’ll be too big. Taila is built with a similar game to Lauren Murphy and her striking is improving, training with Marina Rodriguez has to make a difference. I expect Taila to dominate and score well doing so.
Sean Brady ($8900) – I think Sean Brady is one of the better prospects in the welterweight division, and yes this is a step up in competition. Chiesa’s only path to victory is to get this fight to the floor, and I just don’t see him getting it there. While Chiesa tries to get this to the mat, he will expend a lot of energy, and eventually, he’s going to start shooting from too far out. This is where Brady will take over the fight in my opinion. Brady is just too well-rounded and I think will be the bigger stronger guy. Many don’t see Brady finishing Chiesa but I think it’s a strong possibility.
Others to consider: Roni Yahya (in one or two lineups) you have to because he’s always live for a 1st round submission.
Fares Ziam ($7800) – I don’t think Ziam will be highly owned, but I think his opponent, Terrence McKinney will. McKinney was impressive in a 1st round KO of Matt Frevola back in August. McKinney’s story is a good one, but I think this is setting up to be a huge letdown for McKinney. McKinney is on a 4-fight winning streak and in those fights, he’s never been out of the 1st round. I think Ziam is too good of a striker and eventually, McKinney will slow down. I think Ziam’s striking is way better, he may not have the power that McKinney has, but he’s way more technical. Ziam is the dog in DK but the fight is currently a pk in most books. Ziam has wins against Jamie Mularkey and Luigi Vendramini, and I think this fight is actually a step down in competition for Ziam and I think he puts on an impressive performance on Saturday.
Other Dogs to consider: Ketlan Vieira, Aori Aoriqileng
Best of luck with your lineups and enjoy the fights!
