Look I’m not gonna sugar coat it this card is piss poor. These watered-down events are getting worse and worse. Anyways, let’s look at some fighters to target.
Montel Jackson $9500 – Out of all the fighters above 9k Montel Jackson I think it the safest play here. JP Buys’ wife Cheyenne sure did have a nice rebound a few weeks back, but I don’t think the same can be said for JP. Jackson is better everywhere with multiple paths to victory. I kinda lean toward Jackson getting multiple takedowns, scoring well with control time and eventually ending this by the late 1st or early 2nd round. Jackson rolls here.
Anthony Smith $9100 – Not much to say here, Smith is the better all-around guy here. Smith has been in a few main events as well; I can’t say the same for Spann. I think if Smith can weather the early storm, he should finish Spann via submission. I think that’s his best path to victory. Spann is a decent athlete with good power, but Smith is just too good and too experienced. He should get the job done.
There are not many fighters I like between 8-9k…I suppose I may take a chance on Tafon Nchukwi but I honestly think my approach will be 2 or 3 fighters above 9k and then some dogs.
Pannie Kianzad $7500 – If this fight happened 5 or 6 years ago I wouldn’t even think of putting Pannie in a lineup, but with the way this card is, I think she can definitely pay off her salary. I think Raquel Pennington had her day but I don’t think she really wants to compete, I don’t think her heart is in it and she’s getting up there in age. Pannie is just the hungrier fighter here and I think her wrestling is good enough to get a win. I think this fight should be lined a lot closer, Pennington is on the decline.
Devin Clark $7200 – I think Devin Clark was way in over his head the last time out against Anthony Smith, but Clark is fighting a guy that has been known to gas early. All Clark needs to do is weather the early storm and get this past the 1st round. He’s the better technical striker and if he mixes it in with some takedowns he can get a win here, he just doesn’t want to trade in the pocket. Fight IQ is key in this one.
