I think this is one of the better UFC Vegas cards in the past few months as we have a lot of intriguing fights. The main event features Cyril Gane taking on Alexander Volkov in a key heavyweight tilt. Let’s take a look at some fighters to target.

Warley Alves at $9200 should score really well against Jeremiah Wells. Alves has many paths to victory, and I see him totally dominating. After that I’m not “all-in” on any other fighter priced above 9k. Renato Moicano is a guy I was high on a while back but he’s inconsistent. Moicano has the tools to be a really good fighter but it seems he has mental lapses. Moicano has a legit path to victory here if he gets this to the ground.  Shavkhat Rakhmanov has a 100% finish rate but with heavyweights you’re taking a chance and I don’t know what to expect from Prazeras. Rakhmanov will have a substantial reach advantage but I think Prazerasis durable and should last till the 3rd round.

Split Ownership

I think the heavyweight main event is a lot closer than most people think. Since putting on 20 lbs, Alexander Volkov has been pretty impressive and I do think this fight will be pretty entertaining. Gane is coming off a solid win as well and is pretty well rounded. I think the winner scores well here and we could see a late finish from Gane or Volkov via decision.

Danilo Marques $8000 – I was actually impressed with Nzechukwu and I thought he showed a lot of improvement in his last fight, but I think that Marquez is a bad matchup for him. They are fighting in the smaller octagon at the Apex and eventually Marques will get him up against the cage and will use either sweeps or takedowns to get the fight to the mat. Marques is an experienced BJJ practitionerand will have his way with the inexperienced Nzechukwu. Marques should get a 1stor 2nd round sub here, I’m surprised he’s the underdog but I’ll take it.

Raoni Barcelos $8800 – Barcelos is one of the more underrated fighters in the UFC and while Valiev has been pretty impressive, this is a big step up in competition for the Russian. Barcelos wins this fight wherever it goes and I think Barcelos gets a stoppage in the 2nd or 3rd round.

Ovince St Preux $7900 – Why OSP is a dog here is beyond me, but I will take it. Tanner Boser got a lot of hype after a highlight real KO over Philipe Lins. Since then Boser is 1-2 with losses against Andre Arlovski and Ilir Latifi. OSP has an advantage everywhere in my opinion except maybe the cardio department. On the feet and on the mat OSP is better, simple as that. Any time OSP is a dog against a less that proven fighter I don’t overthink it…OSP usually delivers when he’s the underdog.

Ike Villanueva at $7200 is a sneaky dog that could get a finish.

Best of luck with your lineups and enjoy the fights!
