The UFC heads back to the Apex for UFC Vegas 27. Headlining the card are two bantamweights looking to vault themselves into the bantamweight title mix as former champion Cody Garbrandt takes on Rob Font. It’s a decent card. I’ve seen worse, that’s for sure, so let’s take a look at some fighters to target.

Chalk

There are a few guys I’m looking at above 9k; my top choice is Bruno Silva at $9300. Silva looked pretty impressive in his last time out, ending the fight early against JP Buys. Before that fight, Silva had a rough go of it against some pretty tough competition. Silva is far away from the better guy here as Victor Rodriguez didn’t look UFC-ready in his last fight, granted it was against the impressive Adrian Yanez. I think Rodriguez’s skill set and experience in the Alaskan Fighting Championship don’t bode well for a guy like Silva. Justin Tafa is worth a look at $9000 as well, as he could end the fight early.

Split Ownership

Font/Garbrandt – I lean Garbrandt here as he has some of the fastest hands in the UFC. I’ll have either in my lineups as I don’t see this going past three rounds. A first-round finish is highly likely.

Mid-Tier

Felicia Spencer $8700 – Spencer is 2-2 in the UFC, each win ending in the first round. Dumont is decent, but I think Spencer’s grappling and ability to get this to the mat will ultimately be too much for the Brazilian. Spencer is also tough as nails, so I don’t see a way Dumont can end this. Spencer should score well; I think she’s a safe play.

Claudio Silva is also worth a look at $8200.

Mid-Tier

Edmen Shahbazyan $7300 – Shabazyan has had nine months to think about the loss to Derek Brunson. Derek Brunson is a top-notch wrestler and can make a younger guy look bad. I still think Edmen has many potentials, and he’s the quicker, more athletic guy here. Hermansson is a tough out, but I don’t think he’s a world-class wrestler, and I think Shahbazyan is the much better striker. Hermansson is extremely hittable and doesn’t have the best footwork. This is a fundamental mismatch on the feet, and I’ll take Shahbazyan to bounce back here.

Carla Esparza is also worth a look at $7600.

Best of luck with your lineups, and enjoy the fights!
