The UFC heads to Sacramento as Uriah Faber makes his return to the octagon to take on rising bantamweight prospect Ricky Simon in the co-main event. The main event is a rather puzzling as they are giving women’s bantamweight prospect Aspen Ladd the chance to get into the title picture as she takes on veteran Germaine de Randamie. I have to say this is one of those watered down cards that doesn’t make a lot of sense, so my number of lineups will be significantly lower for this event. Let’s take a look at the salaries.

Mike Rodriguez $9400 – Rodriguez will have a sizeable reach advantage and is way more athletic than John Allen, who will be making his UFC debut. Rodriguez should get a finish here, but due to his high salary he’ll just be in a few lineups.

Ricky Simon $9300 – It pains me to see a guy like Uriah Faber come back like this, I just think Ricky Simon has multiple paths to victory here. Faber is a great grappler, but Simon’s strength and quickness will be too much for the veteran in my opinion. I think it’s very possible Simon will get a finish, and he’ll be in multiple lineups.

Julianna Peña $9000 – I feel like Peña will be low owned because she’s taking this fight on short notice and hasn’t fought in more than 2 years. I have never been impressed with NiccoMontaño, and I think Pena can take this fight to the mat and possibly get a finish. Montano has had a long layoff as well, and I think Peña is by far the more well-rounded fighter with 4 finishes in the UFC. I think she makes it 5 on Saturday.

Ryan Hall $8300 – Hall has to be one of the most frustrating guys to fight in the UFC…I respect the hell out of Darren Elkins but at some point this is going to the ground and when it does it will end in a Ryan Hall submission.

Split ownership

Bektic/Emmett – This fight could go multiple ways, Bektic could overpower Emmett with his wrestling, or Emmett could get the knockout. Either way I think the winner will score well, and I’ll have some of both.

Germaine de Randamie $7300 – It’s pretty crazy that GDR is this big of a dog but I think she is just polished of a striker for the younger Ladd. I don’t think it’s going to be that easy for Ladd to get this to the ground, and her striking defense is just way too pourous to contend with the formewr UFC champion. I’ll take GDR at this salary as she could very well end it in the 3rd or 4th round.

Wellington Turman $7100 – Karl Roberson is 2-2 in the UFC and was originally scheduled to take on John Phillips, which I could have seen him doing very well in that matchup. Phillips pulled out of the fight, and now he gets the 22 year old BrazilianWellington Turman. Turman is on a 4 fight win streak making his UFC debut. In Roberson’s losses, he’s been submitted by opponents that are  Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belts. Now he faces another guy who’s biggest strength is his Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Turman is pretty solid on the feet as well, but I do think Roberson holds the advantage in that department. Turmanknows where this fight needs to go, and I can’t pass this price up on a guy that is somewhat unknown against a guy that is like a fish out of water on the mat.
