Chalk

Marvin Vettori $9600 – Vettori is the bigger guy and I think the blueprint is there to beat Kevin Holland. Not only is this a quick turnaround for Holland but it’s also a tougher matchup than his last one. Vettori is going to take this to the mat but unlike Brunson he will be more active on the ground. I think Vettori has can get a stoppage via ground and pound or via submission. I really think Vettori rolls here.

Joel Solecki $9100 – This is obviously a big step up in competition for Solecki, but we all know about Jim Miller. Miller is a 1st round finish or bust guy. Solecki is a solid wrestler with solid jiu-jitsu and his striking is improving. I can see Solecki getting a finish in the 1st or 2nd round.

Mid-Tier

Jack Shore $8700 – Shore is a legit prospect and I think Hunter Azure will be a pretty good test for Shore. I think the first round will be pretty competitive, but as the fight goes longer the more I see Shore taking over. Shore pushes a pace that I don’t think Azure can handle. I think Shore will try tao take this to the mat early but Azure’s wrestling credentials will serve him well early, but eventually Shore will get this to the mat and get a submission.

Mackenzie Dern $7900 – I don’t see Dern being highly owned and I’m perfectly fine with that.I really think Dern has been focused on getting better since getting outpointed by Verna Jandiroba. Keep in mind that even though Dern lost she still scored 72.1 fpts…not too bad really. Nina Nunes is coming off a 2-year layoff while giving birth to a baby girl, and while I think if this fight happened 3 years ago I think Nunes would be the rightful favorite, I don’t think that’s the case now. Dern’s striking has gotten better, she’s gotten her weight issues under control, and she looks to be in phenomenal shape. If Dern can snatch a single and get this fight to the ground, it’s a wrap. Call me crazy, but something just tells me Nunes’ long layoff combined with Dern’s improvements tells me Dern wins this and in impressive fashion.

William Knight is a live dog as well and provides a good bit of salary relief.

Best of luck this weekend and enjoy the fights!!!!
