The UFC heads to Newark, New Jersey this weekend. There are some decent fights on the card, most notably the main event featuring Colby Covington taking on future UFC Hall of Famer Robbie Lawler. Not the best card for Draft Kings so my lineups will be limited, let’s take a look at the salaries.

Chalk

Claudio Silva $9400 – No surprise here, but Silva is fighting a guy that only has experience against low level competition. Silva has been training at ATT and I expect a dominant performance here. He’ll be in the majority of my lineups. His opponent Cole Williams missed weight and Silva didn’t like it at all…Look for Silva to send a message.

Scott Holtzman $9300 – Hot Sauce should put on a good performance on Saturday, but I don’t know if he’ll get the 1st round finish. I’ll have him in a few lineups, but not a lot. I just don’t have a lot of confidence in him payion off that salary.

Risky

Jim Miller $8900 – I’ll have Miller in a few lineups, but if this goes into the deep waters I’ll be pissed. This is his last fight in the UFC and he’s fighting in his backyard, so something tells me he gets a 1st round submission via rear naked choke. You know he’s gonna be jacked up for this fight, but Clay Guida is a guy that’s hard to put away. This is some risk at the price but it could pay off.

Mid-Tier

Mara Romero Borella $8700 –  I think Mara will be overlooked here. She’s currently around -170 and I honestly think she should be around -200 or more. She will get this to the ground and is very capable of getting a submission. Lauren Murphy’s striking is decent but she’s on the decline.

Split Ownership

Covington/Lawler – This fight is going 2 ways, Covington via decision or Lawler via KO/TKO. Either way the winner will score well. I think we all are all rooting for a certain result.

Dogs

Mickey Gall $7900 – I won’t be all in on Gall, but he’s fighting in his backyard and he looks to be in phenomenal shape. His opponent isn’t the most technical striker and is 0-2 in the UFC. If Gall can snatch a single leg and get into a dominant position he can end it in a hurry. I’ll forget what I saw in Gall’s last fight, supposedly he wasn’t 100%. I give him a shot here and I’ll have him in a lineup or two.

Joaquim Silva $7100 – My favorite underdog on the card. I think the line on this fight is absolutely ridiculous. If this goes to the ground it favors Silva while on the feet I do think Haqparast has an advantage with his speed but tyhe durability and power of Silva will be the difference. Silva is a really live dog in my opinion. The guy is 11-1 and his only loss is to Vinc Pichel and he is coming off a good performance in a win against Jared Gordon. Can’t pass this up.
