The UFC’s second event on Fight Island happens tonight on ESPN as Calvin Kattar takes on Dan Ige in a key featherweight tilt. There are a lot of options on tonight’s card, it’s not the greatest card on paper, but most of the fights are quite interesting. Let’s look at the salaries.

Chalk (Above 9k)

Jack Shore $9400 – Shore is currently around a -700 favorite. His path to victory is clear, take the back and get the RNC. is opponent Aaron Phillips is in his second stint in the UFC, and his takedown defense is sub-par, to say the least. I’ll be on Shore in most of my lineups.

Ali Razak Alhassan $9200 – Alhassan has some of the most impressive power in the UFC. He should take care of business here, the only concern is he’s had a lot of stuff going on outside the ring and he came in 3 lbs heavy. I’ll still have him in quite a few lineups, he should really dominate here.

Mid-Tier ($8.9k – 8K)

Khamzat Chimaev $8900 – I’m not 100% sold on Chimaev, and he’s making his UFC debut. His opponent John Philips has the capability to put your lights out, but Chimaev’s wrestling from what I see is pretty impressive.

Molly McCann $8200 – I think McCann will be low owned, and I think she has the opportunity to put a great performance together against Taila Santos. McCann is better than Santos in every facet here. She could rack up a lot of points.

Split Ownership

Kattar/Ige – Kattar has improved so much in the past 3 years and Kattar has some of the best boxing in the division. He’s won 3 out of his last 4 with 3 KO’s. His only loss was to Zabit Magomedsharipov and had that been a 5 rounder he would have won in my opinion. I am a huge fan of his opponent Dan Ige, who has a ton of heart and I think is a tad disrespected at the current odds. I will be on Kattar for the most part but I will have some lineups with Ige, his wrestling, and his toughness can’t be ignored.

Elliot/Benoit – When was the last time you saw a boring Tim Elliot fight? I think the winner scores well here. Elliot with multiple takedowns or Benoit via TKO….it’ll be a fun one for sure.

Dog (7.9k and below)

Cody Stamann $7800 – Stamann looked solid in his last performance against Brian Kelleher and I think he’s evolving as a mixed martial artist. Jimmie Rivera on the other hand has kind of hit his ceiling to be honest. Rivera also had COVID-19 a few months back and I just don’t think this is a good matchup for him. If Stamann just fights a smart fight and doesn’t stand and bang with Rivera he should win. I think Cody is a real solid play at $7800.

Best of luck and enjoy the fights!
