Can’t say enough good things about last weekends card, it was fantastic. It was also extremely tough from a DFS perspective. Out of all our fighters to target, Mike Grundy was the only one that didn’t show up. What a piss poor effort. Made out with one pretty good lineup, had 4 guys that had 1st round finishes, the other two (Shore and Topuria) both scored over 100 and I still didn’t crack the top 100. It was a close one…on to this weekend, where the UFC heads to Columbus, Ohio…It’s going to be pretty tricky for sure, but let’s take a look at some fighters to target.

There are a good number of solid options above 9k this week. My preferred option is a guy that has had one of the best fantasy point performances of all time. Curtis Blaydes ($9200) once scored 172.8 fantasy points against Alexander Volkov back in June of 2020. I have a good feeling he can score well here once again. Will it be 150? I doubt it, but he has the potential to score very well. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Chris Daukaus and the person he is, but I think we saw in his last performance that he is simply not at the level of these top tier guys. There are levels to this game, but Blaydes is an elite wrestler with decent striking and I just think he’s going to be too much for Daukaus. Wins against guys Shamil Abdurakhimov, Rodrigo Nascimento, Parker Porter doesn’t necessarily mean you’re ready for a guy like Curtis Blaydes. I’m also going to take a look at Aliaskhab Khizriev ($9300), yes he’s making his debut but this guy has some serious skills. He has multiple paths to victory here, good striker, great grappler (he’s from Dagestan by the way) and he is 13-0 with 9 stoppage victories. He’s a bit of a risk but I think he can get a 1st round finish.

Brown/Barbarena – I highly recommend having one of these guys in your lineup. Violence…the winner will score well.

Batgerel Danaa ($8500) – Danaa will be extremely popular with his last 3 wins all via 1st round TKO. Chris Gutierrez is pretty durable, but I think Danaa can get it done inside the distance once again.

Others to consider: Ilir Latifi

Jennifer Maia ($6800) – Let me preface this by saying when I saw Manon Fiorotin her UFC debut I was super impressed and I think she has a very bright future in the UFC. Fiorot was set to take on Jessica Eye, but Eye pulled out a due to injury. Eye is a striker, and that is who Fiorot was preparing for. Now enter Jennifer Maia who is a totally different fighter with a lot of experience and one of the few to go 5 rounds with Valentina Schevchenko. If Maia can get in the clinch and possibly get this fight to the floor this is a very winnable fight for her. Fiorot is long and lanky, which is a benefit to Maia’s jiu jitsu game. This is a very dangerous fight for Fiorot, and I think Jennifer Maia is very live in this one. I won’t have her in every lineup but I will have her in most.

Others to consider: Kai Kara-France, Matheus Nicolau

Best of luck with your lineups and enjoy the fights!!!!
