We have a solid card this Saturday night from Fight Island with the headliner being a potential fight of the year. Israel Adesanya puts his UFC middleweight title on the line against Paulo Costa in what could be a potential fight of the year candidate. The co-headliner is for the vacant UFC light-heavyweight title as Domenick Reyes takes on Jan Blachowicz. It’s a loaded card so let’s take a look at some fighters to target.

Chalk

There are 4 fighters at 9k or above and the only one I’m interested in is Dominick Reyes at 9,000. Reyes is leaps and bounds better than Blachowicz and I think it’s a good possibility he can get this fight over within 3 rounds. Reyes was impressive in 5 rounds against Jon Jones, and I believe this will stay on the feet, where Reyes holds a massive advantage. I think Reyes gets a TKO towards the end of the second round.

Split Ownership

Adesanya/Costa – I will probably have more Costa because I favor him but this will be an unbelievable fight with it ending inside-the distance whoever wins. You’ve probably heard everyone’s opinion, but I think Costa has the power and it wouldn’t surprise me in the least bit to see this go to the ground. Costa is dangerous anywhere it goes, and Adesanya striking is on another level. It could go either way but I’ll be more on Costa but will have some Adesanya as well. Looking forward to this one.

Mid-Tier

Ketlen Vieira $8800– I think Ketlan’s 8800 price tag will make her low owned but I think she absolutely works Sijara Eubanks. Eubanks will be a very popular underdog coming off her win over Julia Avila, but Vieira knows how to win this fight and she will get this to the ground and get the submission. Vieira is currently around -170 or so but in my opinion, she should be -300. Vieira is probably my favorite DK play.

Ludovic Klein 8300 – Klein weighed in at 4 lbs over the weight limit on Friday morning, and you could take it as he had a bad weight cut or whatever, but maybe because it a short notice fight too. Either way, I am a little apprehensive as he’s making his UFC debut but I love what I see in these guys striking. He’s got some serious power and is a finisher. I think his volume will overwhelm young and I think he can get a finish. It’s a risky play but I’m taking it.

Dog

Danilo Marquez $7500 – I have no clue how Khadis Ibragimov is this big of a favorite but I will gladly take the nice price here on Marques at $7500. I have not been impressed at all with Ibragimov as he’s 0-3 in the UFC losing to the likes of Ed Herman, Roman Dolidze, and Da Un Jung. Marques hasn’t been in the cage since February of 2018, so it’s a risky play. However, if your gonna give me a guy that trains under Demian Maia against a guy like Ibragomov where the probability of the fight going to the ground is high, I’ll take it. You also have to take into account that Marquez has nothing to lose, while all the pressure is on Ibragimov to win or he’s more than likely getting cut.  I’ll also be looking at Jeff Hughes and William Knight as both guys have a good shot to get an upset win.
