UFC 252 is upon us, as Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier will complete their trilogy to determine who is the baddest man on the planet. This is a good card from both a betting and DFS perspective and the main card is solid. Let’s look at some fighters to target.

Chalk (9k and above)

Virna Jandiroba – I don’t think Virna will be highly owned, and I’ll be honest I usually like Felice Herrig as an Underdog. However, Felice is coming off a long layoff and this will be her first fight back since tearing her ACL. I think Jandiroba can catch a 1st round sub here, as her grappling is levels above Herrig. Virna rolls here.

Mid-Tier (8900-8k)

Stipe Miocic $8200 – I’m sure many would like to see DC go out on top, but the way I see this fight going is Cormier winning early and gassing. He’s 42 years old, and I don’t see him finishing Stipe either on the feet or on the ground. DC may try to take Miocic down and may get the fight there, but Miocic is not a bad wrestler in his own right. The amount of energy that DC will expend trying to get takedowns will take its toll and I see Stipe finishing the fight in round 3. I will have some of DC in my lineups, but the majority I will have Miocic.

Marlon Vera $7000 – Love the spot here for Chito. Sean O’Malley is a hyped-up fighter and while he has a lot of talent but you may notice that the only highlight-reel performances are against cans or fighters way past their prime. He’s been to a decision twice and in those fights, after the 1st round he has slowed down considerably. This guy is 12-0 and hasn’t faced a solid well rounded mixed martial artist. Enter Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera. Vera is as tough as they come and has solid BJJ credentials and is a dangerous striker. He has many finishes and is durable. In the clinch is where Chito can do a lot of damage and with a smaller octagon, I expect Vera to cut off the cage and get inside and do some damage. I did mention that Vera is durable…durable as in he’s never been finished in his UFC career. He took John Lineker’s best shots and kept coming. Vera is a live dog, and I think he’s gonna get it done Saturday.

John Dodson $7500 – I favor the experience here and I just think Dodson can catch Dvalishvili coming in, Dodson is the faster guy with way better hands. Yes, Dvalishvili is a takedown machine but Dodson is one of the hardest guys to get on the ground. The fact that John Dodson is this big of an underdog is insane. He’s too well-rounded and too experienced. I will have one or two lineups with Dvalishvili but for the most part, I’ll have Dodson.

Those are some of the fighters I’m targeting…it’s weird but in the 8900-8k range there’s not much I like. Anyways, enjoy the fights, and best of luck with your lineups!
