After a week off the wait is over as the UFC heads to the highly anticipated Fight Island in Abu Dhabi, UAE. There are three title fights on the docket, with the main event featuring KamaruUsman defending his Welterweight title against Jorge Masvidal. The co-main will be a rematch of last December’s featherweight title belt as Max Holloway will attempt to regain the featherweight title against Alex Volkanovski. It doesn’t end there as Jose Aldo takes on Petr Yan for the vacant UFC bantamweight title. it’s a phenomenal card, so let’s not waste any more time and take a look at some fighters to target.

Chalk (9k and above)

I am not all in on one particular fighter above 9k. I like Karol Rosa and i think she could get a stoppage, and I also like Amanda Ribas, who should seriously smoke Paige VanZant…I’m just not 100% sold on either of them. I do like Alexander Volkanovski at $9000 as I think he’ll rack up a lot of points with significant strikes and I don’t see the fight with Holloway ending early. I’m not completely fading Max either at 7k, as he will land quite a bit of strikes too and will score well should he get the win. I’ll have a few of these fighters but I’m not all-in on any of them really. I might work Rose Namajunas in lineup or two because I could see her coming out and putting on a dominant performance. I really just like what I see from Rose and I think she’s mentally in a good place.

Mid-Tier (8.9k-8k)

Makwan Amirkhani $8600 – There is a lot of potential at this price range, but if I want the guy that has the best chance of ending the fight early it’s Amirkhanhi. Yes, his cardio is a concern, but I think he can overpower Henry with his wrestling and possibly take his back and get an early finish. Amirkhani is one of the better wrestlers at 145, and I just don’t see enough activity out of Henry to make me think this lasts past two rounds.

Usman/Masvidal – Both guys have a legit path here, and while many feel that Usman should win this handily, I have a somwehat different opinion. Usman can win with takedowns and via decision, he won’t finish Masvidal in my opinion. masvidal can catch usman as well, and has the striking to give Usman fits. I’m not too impressed with Usman on the feet, I think he’s slow and I think there are opportunities for Masvidalto do some damage. I’m pretty much 50/50 on this fight, but maybe more on Masvidal. Should be a great fight.

Jose Aldo $6900 – I never thought I’d see the day that Jose Aldo was $6900 on DK but here we are. I get the hype with Petr Yan, he’s looked tremendous on his current run, but the level of competition doesn’t have me sold. You hear the talk about how Aldo has lost 5 of his last 8, etc etc. Yeah but those losses have been to Conor McGregor in less than a minute, 2 to Max Holloway, who at the time was one of the best pound for pound guys, and Alexander Volkanovski. 3 top tier UFC talents. The last fight? Let’s call it like it is, yeah he got beat but did he really lose? Let’s be honest Aldo won that fight and many feel that way. After the first round I thought it was all Jose Aldo, and he looked sharp to me. Will Aldo finally go back to utilizing leg kicks? We’ll see, but he has a lot of tools to give Petr Yan trouble and he still has the power to knock out any bantamweight. Aldo’s experience and skillset can’t be ignored here, yes the cardio is a concern, but at the end of the 3rd round against Moraes he looked good to me. I think Aldo can get a finish or win a decision here, I just think he’s really disrespected by the oddsmakers.

Jiri Prochazka $7800 – Prochazka makes his UFC debut on Saturday, and if you’ve never heard of him he’s the Rizin Light Heavyweight Champion. He hasn’t lost since 2015, and has made a habit of ending fights early. The UFC is obviously rushing this guy putting him against Oezdemir. I like everything I’ve seen from Prochazka, and I think his striking is on another level. His size, length, and athleticism will be the difference here, and I see an 1st or 2nd round TKO coming for the UFC debutant. Prochazka is legit, and he’s just 27 years old and has gotten a lot better over the past 4 years.

Best of luck and enjoy the fights!!!!
