Well we almost knocked it out of the park last week, even nailed the prediction of the main event (Figueiredo TKO Rd 2), however Gabriel Silva was a real disappointment. Still won a little but not as much as I would have liked.

On to UFC 248 this Saturday night from Las Vegas. We have two title fights, with Weili Zhang defending her UFC strawweight belt against former champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk. In the main even we have the UFC middleweight champion Israel “The Last Stylebender” Adesanya defending his strap against Yoel “Soldier of God” Romero. This is one of the trickier events from a DFS perspective but I see some fighters to target. Let’s take a look.

Chalk

Rodolfo Viera $9300 – He’ll be in the majority of lineups, and I think he’ll get a first round finish. Not much to say here, Viera will get this to the ground and it’ll be over quickly. He’ll score over 100.

Mid-Tier

Weili Zhang $8900 – I don’t think Zhang will be highly owned and for that reason I’ll have her in the majority of my lineups. Look, JJ had a great run, and it’s not like she’s declined (well, her chin maybe). I just think we’ve seen womens MMA evolve and there are just better fighters now. This will by far be the strongest fighter Joanna has faced in her career. I think Zhang has many paths to victory here, and I like the fact that Joanna is somewhat of a public underdog against the fighter from China that still fights with a chip on her shoulder. Joanna doesn’t fare well against counter-strikers, and I think that will be evident here. I think Zhang will get a finish in late round 2.

50/50

Adesanya/Romero – Romero is a beast, and I do give him a good chance to knockout Adesanya here, he has a path. Let’s not forget he was stunned a few times by Gastelum, and Romero’s left is deadly. Adesanya can score well on volume as well and could possibly get a late finish. I can’t wait for this fight; the winner should pay off their salary.

Dog

Gerald Meerschart $7900 – I honestly think this fight should have been lined a lot closer. Winn hasn’t impressed me at all, and I think he’s just too small for 185…Meerschaert could very well have success on the feet and if Winn want to take this fight to the ground, Meerschaert is super slick off his back. Out of all the dogs on this card, Meerschaert is the one I like the most…a really live dog here capable of a finish.

Those are the main fighters I’m targeting…also will take a look at Max Griffin, Cowboy just hasn’t been the same since the war against Madeiros. Madsen at 9k is a little steep, he’s a little unproven. Jamall Emmers may be in a lineup or two, I could see him scoring well with takedowns.

That’s it for me, good luck with your lineups and enjoy the fights!!!!
