What up Wolfpack! What up Degens!! How’s everyone feeling?! Is anyone’s wallets a little heavier? I know mine is! Harrison Barnes and Kent Bazemore came through as valuable punt plays last night if you played them. Kanter and a couple others hurt us but the majority of last night’s plays hit!! Today is a new day, a fresh clean slate, and we forget what happened yesterday. It’s time to Break Slates and get the cashola!!!

Favorite Plays on the Slate:  (In no particular order) ( PG-C position)

Donovan Mitchell (UTA) @ NO ($7,400) PG/SG

Average FPTS last 5 games:  32.5 FPTs

Opponent vs opposing PG’s Last 5: 9th worst (NO) 86.3 avg per game.

Projected FPTs tonight:  40.7 FPTs

Ceiling: 46.9 FPTs

Mitchell has been average as of late, but he gets a nice matchup on the road in New Orleans tonight. Mitchell plays better on the road this season rather than at home and he’s due for a big performance. Solid mid-tier point guard.

Monte Morris (DEN) @ GS ($4,400) PG

Average FPTS last 5 games:  19.4 FPTs

Opponent vs opposing PG’s Last 5:  13th worst (GS) 83.6 avg per game.

Projected FPTs tonight:  26.3 FPTs

Ceiling: 28.9 FPTs

Assuming Jamal Murray does indeed miss tonight’s game, Monte Morris would be a great value play that can hit value easily.

D’Angelo Russell (GS) vs. DEN ($7,500) PG/SG

Average FPTS last 5 games:  42.2 FPTs

Opponent vs opposing PG’s Last 5: 14th worst (DEN) 82.3 avg per game.

Projected FPTs tonight: 35.8 FPTs

Ceiling:  60.9 FPTs

My favorite point guard on this slate tonight. Russell is priced exactly right, and his ceiling tonight is ridiculous.

Devin Booker (PHX) @ NY ($9,000) PG/SG

Average FPTS last 5 games:  46.3 FPTs

Opponent vs opposing SG’s Last 5:  5th worst (NY) 87.1 avg per game.

Projected FPTs tonight:  46.7 FPTs

Ceiling:  56.7 FPTs

Yes Rubio is playing, No I don’t care, Booker leads the team in usage and has been on a tear lately. Don’t fall under the misconception that he’s playing the Knicks that this will be a slow paced game. The point spread is 225 and since Fizdale has been fired, The Knicks have been playing at a much faster pace. Booker is a great pick at shooting guard regardless of his price. He should produce.

Joe Ingles (UTA) @ NO ($6,100) SG/SF

Average FPTS last 5 games:  32.5 FPTs

Opponent vs opposing SG’s Last 5:  7th worst (NO) 86.1 avg per game.

Projected FPTs tonight:  28.6 FPTs

Ceiling:  34.2 FPTs

Ingles is in play for me here. The Pelicans are the 7th worst defensively against opposing shooting guards and if Ingles gets hot, He could produce 30-40 FPTs easy. Solid mid-tier option. Don’t think man to man here and fear Holiday. They are the 7th worst defensively for a reason. It’s their defense, not Holiday’s.

Jaylen Brown (BOS) *Questionable* @ MIL ($6,500) SG/SF

Average FPTS last 5 games: 27.4 FPTs

Opponent vs opposing SG’s Last 5:  12th worst (MIL) 80.6 avg per game.

Projected FPTs tonight:  33.5 FPTs

Ceiling:  42.1 FPTs

Brown suffered a thumb sprain against the Pistons, but I’m assuming he will still suit up for tonight’s game in Milwaukee and I like the matchup a lot. If Brown sits, you can absolutely pivot to Marcus Smart @ $5,500.    Smart could also see a minutes uptick with Tatum out, so he’s valuable tonight as well.

R.J. Barrett (NY) vs. PHO ($5,900) SG

Average FPTS last 5 games:  30.0 FPTs

Opponent vs opposing SG’s Last 5:  16th worst (PHO) 74.4 avg per game.

Projected FPTs tonight:  32.5 FPTs

Ceiling:  37.4 FPTs

His value drops if Marcus Morris returns so keep an eye out on injury reports, but Booker is a great scorer, not a great defender. Barrett has been hot lately and I like to ride the hot hand. If he can get us 30 FPTs in a high pace matchup tonight it’s a win!

Khris Middleton (MIL) vs. BOS ($7,300) SF

Average FPTS last 5 games:  37.5 FPTs

Opponent vs opposing SF’s Last 5:  3rd worst (BOS) 99.5 avg per game.

Projected FPTs tonight:  31.5 FPTs

Ceiling:  43.1 FPTs

Middleton burned us the other night, but tonight he faces a Celtics team on the second leg of a back to back and whom is 3rd worst defensively against opposing small forwards their past 5 games. Solid mid-tier option at small forward tonight.

Mikal Bridges (PHX) @ NY ($4,500) SG/SF

Average FPTS last 5 games:  19.9 FPTs

Opponent vs opposing SF’s Last 5:  4th worst (NY) 99.4 avg per game.

Projected FPTs tonight:  25.3 FPTs

Ceiling: 26.0 FPTs

Oubre is out due to a concussion. Bridges or Cameron Johnson ($3,100)  could both be sneaky good plays especially if Marcus Morris is out. I believe Bridges has more upside than Johnson tonight but I can’t look past either’s price tonight on dk.

Kawhi Leonard (LAC) vs. ORL ($10,100) SF

Average FPTS last 5 games:  50.0 FPTs

Opponent vs opposing SF’s Last 5:  9th worst (ORL) 93.3 avg per game.

Projected FPTs tonight:   44.1 FPTs

Ceiling:  55.3 FPTs

I don’t love his price but there’s no Paul George and Leonard’s averaging 50 FPTs a game over his last 5. I mean that’s kind of hard to ignore and it’s a smaller slate so if you want to make him the centerpiece of your lineup, I’m really not mad at that choice at all.

Khem Birch (ORL) @ LAC ($3,500) PF/C

Average FPTS last 5 games: 12.8 FPTs

Opponent vs opposing PF’s Last 5:  4th worst (LAC) 86.6 avg per game.

Projected FPTs tonight:  20.2 FPTs

Ceiling:  23.3 FPTs

Need a dart throw at power forward, I’m seeing multiple DFS sites listing Birch as the projected starting power forward tonight in Los Angeles, I believe Aaron Gordon will be playing small forward tonight. If this holds true, Birch could be sneaky good and be a player that will be low owned with a 20-25 FPT potential ceiling.

Mo Harkless (LAC) vs. ORL ($3,800) SF/PF

Average FPTS last 5 games: 15.2 FPTs

Opponent vs opposing PF’s Last 5:  8th worst (ORL) 78.6 avg per game.

Projected FPTs tonight:  15.2 FPTs

Ceiling: 23.6 FPTs

“They’re all gonna laugh at you!”. That’s ok,  I’m going to mention a good matchup when I see one. Harkless may not be a usage monster but he has the potential to produce in a good matchup and on a small slate, we need value to stack studs. Hark could be so sneaky tonight.

Jerami Grant (DEN) @ GS ($4,800) PF/C

Average FPTS last 5 games: 22.4 FPTs

Opponent vs opposing PF’s Last 5:  10th worst (GS) 76.0 avg per game.

Projected FPTs tonight:  26.4 FPTs

Ceiling:  28.1 FPTs

Another nice value play, low risk/high reward assuming Millsap misses another game. You can pivot to Millsap if he returns and is not on a minute restriction. If he is, then fade both.

Julius Randle (NY) vs. PHX ($8,000) PF/C

Average FPTS last 5 games: 41.0 FPTs

Opponent vs opposing PF’s Last 5: 11th worst (PHX) 73.9 avg per game.

Projected FPTs tonight:  44.1 FPTs

Ceiling:  49.0 FPTs

Randle is in a great matchup tonight at home versus PHX.

De’Andre Ayton (PHX) @ NY ($7,700) PF/C

Average FPTS last 5 games:  36.3 FPTs

Opponent vs opposing Centers Last 5:  3rd worst (NY) 75.6 avg per game.

Projected FPTs tonight:  39.3 FPTs

Ceiling:  40.9 FPTs

The Knicks are really bad against opposing centers and Ayton has played well as of late. His price isn’t bad but the matchup is what’s really tasty tonight. Solid mid-tier option at center.

Nikola Vucevic (ORL) @ LAC ($8,500) Center

Average FPTS last 5 games: 45.3 FPTs

Opponent vs opposing Centers Last 5:  4th worst (LAC) 74.6 avg per game.

Projected FPTs tonight:   46.5 FPTs

Ceiling:  53.2 FPTs

I didn’t care too much Vuce last night, but I like him a ton tonight. Great spend up at center against a Clippers team who gives up a ton of points up the middle.

Omari Spellman (GS) vs. DEN ($4,800) PF/C

Average FPTS last 5 games: 25.3 FPTs

Opponent vs opposing Centers Last 5:  9th worst (DEN) 68.7 avg per game.

Projected FPTs tonight:  22.7 FPTs

Ceiling:  30.0 FPTs

Could be sneaky good or bad but can’t deny the matchup and he’s cheap.

Brook Lopez (MIL) vs. BOS ($4,800) Center

Average FPTS last 5 games:  18.4 FPTs

Opponent vs opposing Centers Last 5:  14th worst (BOS) 65.7 avg per game.

Projected FPTs tonight:  22.9 FPTs

Ceiling:  37.5 FPTs

Cheap play at center. Boston not great against them. Lopez is older but has an occasional acceptable night here and there. Low risk.

I don’t mind if you play ABC tonight especially with no Tatum. I’m on the fence, only reason why I didn’t mention him. I feel like Booker and Russell and Kawhi are better options.

The Core 5:   (These are my favorite players at every position tonight. These are not locks as I don’t believe in ever calling a player a lock. These are my favorite plays at every position and are not meant to be a method of an example lineup. The Core 5 has been a section I’ve received requests to do by our followers of the website and in the fb group I do the article for as well. Without further ado, here are my Core 5.

PG:  D’Angelo Russell (GS) vs. DEN ($7,500) PG/SG

SG:  Devin Booker (PHX) @ NY ($9,000) PG/SG

SF:  Kawhi Leonard (LAC) vs. ORL ($10,100) SF

PF:  Julius Randle (NY) vs. PHX ($8,000) PF/C

Center:  Nikola Vucevic (ORL) @ LAC ($8,500) Center

Thank you all for reading and good luck tonight!!!
