TGIF!! And what a way to kick off a Friday but with a huge 10 game NBA main slate tonight on DraftKings. Last night was a nice little appetizer for tonight. I cashed on 3 of my 4 lineups and I hope you guys made some money as well. RJ Barrett almost hit 5 times value so at least I won’t get laughed outta this article but a lot of my other picks were highly successful last night and I’m hoping you guys took advantage. Without further ado, we have a huge slate to go through for tonight’s action so let’s keep it short and sweet. It’s time to Break some slates babyyyy!!!!!!

Also, for news, injury updates, and my personal gut feelings on who to play after this article is posted, Be sure to check me out on my Twitter handle.

Favorite Plays on the Slate:  (In no particular order) ( PG-C positions)

Tomas Satoransky (CHI) vs. GS ($6,000) PG/SG

Satoransky is in a great spot tonight at home vs. the Warriors. The last time Satoransky went up against the Warriors on November 27th he dropped an outstanding 41.75 FPTs on them. Satoransky is the type of point guard that can fill up the stat sheets quick in an easier matchup and Golden State has given up the second most fantasy points to opposing point guards in their past 5 games. His price has elevated since his last meeting with the Warriors by $1,000 but I still see Satoransky getting at the very least 5 times value tonight. Nice mid-tier point guard on this slate.

Terry Rozier (CHA) vs. BKN ($7,100) PG/SG

Terry Rozier has woken up as of late. In Rozier’s past 4 games he is averaging 38.5 FPTs per game and the Hornets seem to be getting much better as a team. Tonight, Brooklyn comes into the hive and Rozier had an average night against them the last time they met putting up only 27.5 FPTs, but when Rozier gets hot he’s pretty tough to contain. I don’t love his price tonight, but I can’t argue with DraftKings due to his recent production and Brooklyn is not good defensively in their backcourt. This pick doesn’t come without risk but what pick doesn’t? I like Rozier very much at home and I think he will have a much better outing tonight against the Nets than his last.

Chris Paul (OKC) vs. MIN ($6,300) PG

Paul hasn’t been anything to write home about recently but I can’t look past his matchup tonight at home vs. the Timberwolves. This is a nice price point for Paul whom could be low owned tonight but I believe he has potential for 6 times value tonight. Minnesota is another team that is pretty bad at defending opposing point guards and Paul although he is older is still one of the most efficient starting point guards in the game. Nice mid-tier option for your lineups.

Kendrick Nunn (MIA) vs. WAS ($4,800) PG/SG

Nunn has been struggling with his shot as of late, but tonight he faces a Wizards team that is hot but is also on the second leg of a back to back and that is pretty banged up. I’m assuming the Wizards are going to be fatigued after a wild game last night with Philly. Their defense against point guards has improved recently but Nunn is fresh and if he gets hot, this could be the steal of the night. Nunn’s price and this matchup is too good to pass up for me especially with all the injuries the Wizards are facing right now. Somebody call a medic! Player down! Player down!  Play Nunn but don’t tell your friends to, It isn’t Nunn of their business!

LeBron James (LAL) @ POR ($10,100) PG/SF

I like this matchup for Lebron tonight even though there is a ton of value on this slate, I don’t mind if you spend up on the King. Portland ranks in the bottom ten against opposing point guards and James is always a consistent 40 floor/70 ceiling fantasy point player. At this price, I’m hoping he reaches at least 5-6 times value against this Blazers defense. Solid spend up option at point guard or small forward.

Evan Fournier (ORL) @ CLE ($6,600) SG/SF

You wanna talk about a BAD MAN??!! This right here is a BAD MAN!! Fournier has been on an absolute tear lately for the Magic. He’s has a 49.6% field goal percentage this year and he’s shooting 44.6% from beyond the arc!! In Fournier’s past 5 games he’s averaging a robust 37.55 FPTs per game and tonight he gets Cleveland whom he torched earlier this season for 35.1 FPTs and he was only $200 cheaper. This game has blowout written all over it as most Cavs games have been all season, But I think Fournier should be good for 4 ¾ – 5 times value tonight. Nice mid tier option at shooting guard.

Buddy Hield (SAC) @ SA ($7,600) SG/SF

The Bahamian Baller is back on Break’n Slates and it seems like he’s in every edition lately,  and I’m perfectly fine with that! If Hield had an online dating app profile it would probably read “Hi I’m Buddy and I am a professional basketball player that likes to go to team’s home courts and make absolute mockeries of them. I also like ice cream.” Well I don’t know about the latter part of that profile but I do know one thing, Buddy balls even more away from home. Hield steps into San Antonio averaging 41.31 FPTs over his past 4 games and the Spurs are the 4th worst at defending opposing shooting guards in their past 5 games. I can see Buddy with a ceiling of 45 FPTs tonight at his price I’m perfectly fine with that. Great mid tier option tonight and one of my favorite players on the entire slate. I’m also willing to bet that he actually does like ice cream.

Zach Lavine (CHI) vs. GS ($7,800) PG/SG

This is almost too easy. Lavine tore Golden State up the last time these teams met on November 27th just like Satoransky, only difference is Lavine dropped 58.5 FPTs on the Warriors! Chicago’s back court is a must start for me tonight. If it isn’t for you, that’s ok I’ll reap the rewards!! Excellent mid tier option tonight for your lineups!

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (OKC) vs. MIN ($6,300) PG/SG

I also love the Thunder’s back court tonight against Minnesota. SGA has been up and down this year but with the price drop here at $6,300, I’m all about it baby!!  I like Paul, SGA, and Dennis Schroder tonight for OKC. SGA is a better mid range shooter and basket driver than he is a 3 point shooter and I can see the athletic SGA give the Wolves headaches all night here in this spot. Good mid tier shooting guard.

Jimmy Butler (MIA) vs. WAS ($8,100) SG/SF

Jimmy Butler’s bringing so much heat this winter, the penguins have no place to live!! Talk about a player on fire in his last two games and against good defensive teams! In Butler’s last two games he’s averaging 58.8 FPTs per game!! Tonight he faces a Wizards team who is the worst against opposing small forwards in the league the past 5 games. His price has climbed a bit and there is a ton of value but I will be adding Butler into a few of my lineups tonight! At this price, he still can get you 5 ½ to 6 times value easy!

Eric Paschall (GS) @ CHI ($6,200) SF/PF

Paschall is a key piece to this Warriors team this year. In a season where injuries have decimated their talent level, Paschall has been one shining star that is developing nicely. The Bulls are below average against opposing small forwards and Paschall dropped 38.8 FPTs on them in Golden State their last meeting. At $6,200 you have a solid mid tier small forward who can help your lineups tonight.

Anthony Davis (LAL) @ POR ($9,600) PF/C

Carmelo nor Hassan Whiteside should give Davis any trouble tonight. He’s probable so always keep an eye on the injury report leading up until tip off. Davis has been a little off FPT wise according to his value this year compared to last year but this is a nice matchup for Davis against a Blazers team that ranks 4th on the year defensively against opposing power forwards. Carmelo might want to take a load management night tonight or else he could get embarrassed pretty bad. I like but don’t love Davis’ price but you can’t fade him in a juicy match like this.

Draymond Green (GS) @ CHI ($5,900) PG/SF

If Green lines up at the power forward spot tonight then I love this matchup. (I’m assuming he will since Russell is supposed to be playing) I love Golden States front court against Chicago as much as I love Chicago’s back court against Golden State. This could be a good game to stack some players from both teams as none of them besides Russell are priced that high tonight. I know Russell is only $7,900 but he has to show me more production for me to feel like he’s a deal. Just my opinion. Draymond hung 33.3 FPTs on the Bulls their last meeting and if he can produce a little more this time at the power forward spot as opposed to when he was playing the point guard position the last time he faced the Bulls, I’ll be happy.

Aaron Gordon (ORL) @ CLE ($6,900) SF/PF

Who’s laughing at Gordon now? In Gordon’s past two games he’s averaging 43.5 FPTs per game. Now I’m not saying Gordon is my favorite play tonight. But also take note that Kevin Love is currently fighting an illness and I’m not talking about his previous performances either. He is in danger of missing this game. Gordon could be in line to have another nice outing and he’s under 7k so he may be worth a gamble adding into your lineups tonight but only if Love sits. Fade him if he doesn’t. Cleveland is above average the past ten games against opposing power forwards. Gordon needs his shot to continue to fall to have good value tonight.

Jayson Tatum (BOS) vs. DEN ($7,600) SF/PF

Tatum didn’t fare very well against Denver his last matchup but it also was in Denver. Nobody plays all that well in Denver, you can hardly breathe there for crying out loud! Tonight is a new night and the Celtics have been hot! Tatum has found his rhythm the past five games to a tune of 41.5 FPTs per game. Denver is below average at defending opposing power forwards and Tatum will look to NOT repeat his previous performance against Denver. This pick could be a little volatile but I can’t look past a good player on a hot streak.

Giannis Antetokounmpo (MIL) vs. LAC ($11,300) (SF/PF)

Looks like Giannis next victim “ahem” opponent tonight will be Mo Harkless of the Clippers. A normal player may have a hard time with Harkless but do you really think he will stop the Greek Freak? I’d be a little more afraid if Kawhi was playing the power forward spot tonight but according to Rotowire, he’s playing the shooting guard position tonight. Giannis should ball out! Clippers are a great defense but Giannis is matchup proof. He’s under 12k, get him tonight before it goes back up tomorrow.

Montrezl Harrell (LAC) @ MIL ($6,500) PF/C

Milwaukee is also a good defensive team but they can be exploited at the center position. Brook Lopez is banged up with a bad back and Harrell is explosive and athletic and I can definitely see him take advantage of Lopez at half strength. The Bucks are 4th worst at defending opposing centers in their past 5 games and I can see Harrell having a huge night for the Clippers. Excellent mid-tier center. Oh yeah and not to mention, he dropped only 62.8 FPTs on them their last matchup! Are you kiddin’ me? Set it and fuhgettaboutit!

Richaun Holmes (SAC) @ SA ($6,800) PF/C

Another team who is below average at defending opposing centers is San Antonio. The Spurs got a freak win vs. Houston the other night and I’m sure they have some momentum going into this game at home. That is, until they meet Richaun “The Home Wrecker” Holmes! Sounds like a wrestling name, But the only wrestling going on tonight with be Pop trying to find someone to stop Holmes from dominating them tonight. It’s not gonna happen. The matchup is gorgeous, the price is right, and Holmes should have himself a great game tonight. 5-6 times value or bust baby! Great option at center.

Myles Turner (IND) @ DET ($5,700) Center

BOOM or BUST because he’s been so up and down. The matchup looks right and the price is just fine. Detroit ranks 8th worst against opposing centers in their past 5 games. Drummond is no easy opponent to face but Turner is averaging 36.3 FPTs per game against the Pistons this season. Not my favorite pick but there’s value there for sure and he typically plays well against Detroit.

Andre Drummond (DET) vs. IND ($9,400) Center

On the other side of the court tonight, Drummond is a must start for me. Indiana is usually strong in the center but not when it comes to Drummond. He absolutely exposes them and then throws them away like spoiled milk. Drummond is averaging over 55 FPTs per game against the Pacers and if he can continue that reign of terror then I have no problem spending over 9k for him tonight. Great option at center.

Karl Anthony-Towns (MIN) @ OKC ($10,400) Center

As long as this knee soreness isn’t too severe which I doubt it is, Towns is pretty much matchup proof. He’s also someone I’m very high on. Adams isn’t a bad center at all but Towns is another kinda beast when he’s on the floor averaging 1.50 FPTs per minute on the season. Spend up if he’s healthy with confidence.

Final Thoughts:

I like Devonte’ Graham but I can’t buy into his price tonight personally. $8,300 is a bit much for my taste but it may not be for yours. He’s also starting at point guard tonight and flip flopping with Rozier so I’d need to see how that plays out. I’m not saying to fade him, I just think he’s too expensive.

Malcolm Brodgon is a decent mid tier guard tonight. I like him.

Damian Lillard could have a tough time tonight with LeBron guarding him, if he gets some Rondo exposure it’s light out though…volatile tonight for me.

If Kevin Love sits, then I don’t have a problem using Nance tonight for value.

Jarrett Allen is more expensive now at $7,200. He’s been performing and the matchup is good tonight vs. Charlotte but remember we need him to hit value. I’m ok with playing him but he is a little pricey with a lot of value at center tonight.

I like Taurean Prince at $6,500 as he’s been very consistent.

Jamal Murray is a great value at $6,400 tonight, Last time he played Boston in Denver he had just over 40 FPTs. If he can repeat that performance, he’s worth it!

Keep an eye on Jarrett Culver tonight @ $5,100. Paul is a good defender but Culver is younger and he’s been pretty damn good in his past two games.

I like DJ Augustin at $4,800 especially if this game gets ugly, Augustin will see minutes and I feel has more potential than Fultz tonight.

Duncan Robinson is only $4,600 and could have a nice game if his shots fall tonight vs the Wizards.

Ish Smith is stupid cheap and althought it’s a tougher matchup, I can’t fade him at only $3,600.

The Core 5:   (These are my favorite players at every position tonight. These are not locks as I don’t believe in ever calling a player a lock. These are my favorite plays at every position and are not meant to be a method of an example lineup. The Core 5 has been a section I’ve received requests to do by our followers of the website and in the fb group I do the article for as well. Without further ado, here are my Core 5.
