Break’n Slates w/ Brian Lemay Jr. – 6 Game DraftKings NBA Slate

What up Degens!! What’s good Wolfpack! I’m back in the saddle again to bring you the very best players you can add to your lineups on DraftKings tonight. This weekend was another weird one, and it always seems like when I play Luka Doncic, he gets hurt. I’ve been Doncic’d three times this year already! I suffered this weekend with no cashola and I will not be prevented from climbing Mount Cashonia tonight and neither will any of you! We need to stack our cash after buying all those christmas presents and even if you don’t celebrate the holidays, we just want them paper stacks baby!!! Without further ado, we’re back on schedule, we’re locked and loaded, we’re ready to BREAK SOME SLATES!! Shoutout to DFS Wolfpack member Ahmad Glenn for his $2,500 takedown last night, I didn’t help him but man that was impressive! Nice job brother!

Also, for news, injury updates, and my personal gut feelings on who to play after this article is posted, Be sure to check me out on my Twitter handle.

Some days we will win. Some days we will lose.  I will never argue with any member of any community about who they want to play on any given night. However, if you would like my opinion on a particular player I will gladly help you any way that I can if you ask me. My slogan is “If you like him, play him”. It’s your money and I can’t spend it for you. If I don’t get back to you right away, it’s because I am just like you and work a full time job and I do this in my down time here. I promise to get back to you.  Some players who are studs I may not mention in detail here in this article but will be displayed in the “Players I like but did not mention here” portion of the write up towards the end. Favorite Plays on the Slate:  (In no particular order) ( PG-C position)

Damian Lillard (POR) vs. PHX ($8,500) PG

Hey guys! What does the Incredible Hulk do?? Hulk Smash!!!! Damian Lillard isn’t the Hulk but he sure is in a smash spot tonight at home against the Suns! Lillard has been on a tear his last two games dropping 54 FPTs in Utah and then 51.5 FPTs Saturday night at home against the Lakers. Tonight he faces a Suns team that is the worst defensively against opposing point guards. In Lillard’s past 5 games he’s reached an average of 5.6 times value! Tonight in this game unless some unforeseen circumstances occur, he should be in line for up to 6 times value at this price and with the matchup. Excellent point guard option tonight.

Spencer Dinwiddie (BKN) @ MIN ($7,700) PG/SG

Finally, DraftKings has lowered Dinwiddie’s price! They were getting a little crazy there having him at $8,700! He’s not Damian Lillard nor is he Russell Westbrook. This is a fine matchup for Dinwiddie against a banged up Timberwolves team. The Wolves are the 8th worst team defensively against opposing point guards and Dinwiddie at this price should have no problem reaching 5 times value. The Minnesota point guards will not be able to contain Dinwiddie tonight and I’m sure Dinwiddie will want to show out before Kyrie Irving returns from injury.

Kendrick Nunn (MIA) @ WAS ($5,100) PG/SG

Nunn hasn’t been producing like we’d like him to as of late, but tonight he gets to see some Isaiah Thomas defense. I like that! Nunn is second on the Heat in usage percentage at 23.9% so he’ll have the ball in his hands a lot tonight. We need the Kendrick Nunn from earlier in the season, the one who’s shooting percentage was 45-50% in some games and the Kendrick Nunn who hit 3-4 triples a game as well. I have a good feeling about Nunn tonight in Washington. Solid value play here.

Donovan Mitchell (UTA) vs. DET ($8,400) PG/SG

Mitchell has hit 5 times value or more in 3 of his past 5 games and tonight he gets to face a banged up Detroit backcourt. Mitchell is averaging 40.2 FPTs per game on the season at home and this is matchup is just too juicy to ignore. I’m not crazy about the price, but I also can’t deny that Mitchell is getting a whopping 31.5% usage percentage on the team. In Mitchell’s past 5 games he’s averaging an impressive 44.2 FPTs per game. Mitchell should handle his own against the Pistons’ replacements tonights.

C.J. McCollum (POR) vs. PHX ($6,600) PG/SG

C.J. is priced right, the matchup is right and the last time he faced the Suns he dropped 50.8 FPTs on them. Will that happen again? Probably not but McCollum is in a nice spot tonight at home. I understand Booker was out their past game but his defense is swiss cheese c’mon people!  The Suns are ranked third worst defensively in their past 5 games against opposing shooting guards. McCollum is second on the Blazers in usage and should have the ball in his hands plenty tonight. Nice matchup and solid price. It’s not foolish to think he could reach up to 6 times value tonight.

Evan Fournier (ORL) vs. ATL ($6,000) SG/SF

If Aaron Gordon misses this game due to a sore Achilles, then Fournier should ball! Atlanta is terrible defensively against opposing shooting guards and Fournier put up 31.3 FPTs on them their last meeting. I’m assuming Fournier will see a lot of the rookie Cam Reddish tonight which bodes well for him. Excellent mid tier option who could be low owned. If Gordon plays, he becomes a tad bit risky but overall Fournier leads the team in usage.

Joe Harris (BKN) @ MIN ($5,300) SG/SF

Harris could be sneaky good if Wiggins misses this game. If Wiggins is in, I’m not so high on Harris. The Wolves are giving up the 7th most FPTS to opposing shooting guards in their last five games. Harris equals about the same fantasy points per game on the road as he does at home so being in Minnesota shouldn’t make a difference. I like him if Wiggins is out.

Derrick Rose (DET) @ UTA ($6,300) PG/SG

Even if Svi starts this game, Rose has more upside in this one. In his past three games, Rose is averaging 35 FPTs per game. Tonight, he gets a Jazz backcourt that isn’t known for their defense this season. Rose has breathed life into the Pistons backcourt and has become a main scoring option in Kennard’s absence. If you need a nice mid-tier option at shooting guard with a legit 35-40 FPT ceiling, Rose could be your guy tonight.

Joe Ingles (UTA) vs. DET ($6,100) SG/SF

On the other side of the court, I’m not going to ignore the production Joe Ingles has been putting out in the starting lineup either. In his past 5 games, Ingles is averaging a solid 35.5 FPTs per game. Ingles can fill the stat sheet in a hurry when he gets things going. Solid mid-tier option tonight.

Devin Booker (PHX) @ POR ($7,500) PG/SG

Booker is priced nice! His price drops $200 after dropping a monster 54.75 FPTs on the Kings Saturday night. Blazers are 11th worst defensively against opposing shooting guards. He will not and I repeat, he will not be in the 7k range for long if he keeps up this production. Booker also averages 4.4 FPTs more FPTS per game on the road this season as opposed to home. Solid mid-tier option.

Kelly Oubre (PHX) @ POR ($6,700) SF/PF

Oubre has a nice matchup tonight as well, The Blazers are not a good defensive team. They are second worst against opposing small forwards and Oubre put up 35 FPTs on them their last meeting. I don’t even mind a stack of Booker/Oubre tonight as they are both top 2 on the team in usage and both should have a nice night tonight. This is a game we want to target with a 231 point spread. High pace, lots of scoring, lots of yummy goodness!!!

Khris Middleton (MIL) @ CHI ($8,100) SG/SF

I don’t love this play if Giannis returns. Middleton’s price is high, the matchup is good though. The Bulls are giving up the 11th most fantasy points to opposing small forwards in their last 5 games. If Giannis returns, I’m probably fading Middleton due to his price. This is a risky play, please keep an eye out on injury reports leading up to tip off. I had to do my due diligence and mention him in case Giannis is out. Bledsoe returning also eats into Middleton’s usage a bit too.

Jimmy Butler (MIA) @ WAS ($7,800) SG/SF

Jimmy Butler is also in a smash spot against a banged up Wizards backcourt. He’s also priced deliciously! Bradley Beal could sit this one out because he’s hurt and even if Beal plays, it really doesn’t matter. Jimmy B is averaging 39.8 FPTs in his past 5 games and is looking for a breakout game. This could be it. There is a chance there is a blowout here, but Jimmy B is cheap enough tonight where I don’t mind including him in my lineups. You shouldn’t either.

Bojan Bogdanovic (UTA) vs. DET ($6,100) SF/PF

I also can’t look past Bogdanovic tonight either for Utah. Detroit lacks defense and tonight they also lack Blake Griffin, whom also lacks defense, well you get the point. The injuries right now are hurting the Pistons and I don’t mind taking full advantage. Bogdanovic’s price is right, he has a legit 40 FPT ceiling and the matchup is money. If you need a nice mid-tier power forward I have no problem with you plugging in Bogdanovic. He’s also second on the Jazz in usage.

Bam Adebayo (MIA) @ WAS ($7,600) Center

Adebayo is under 8k against the worst defense against Centers in the league??? Don’t overthink this! Plug and play Adebayo, I don’t even need to back this up with stats! He also dropped 52 FPTs on Washington their last meeting. Oh my goodness.

Jarrett Allen (BKN) @ MIN ($6,200) Center

Allen has cooled off a bit since his hot start to the season. We’re not sure if KAT is back tonight but he’s not the best defender either. Minnesota is the second worst against opposing centers in their past 5 games. I’m looking for a nice double double tonight from Allen and it’s not unrealistic, in fact, at his price I could see him getting 5 to 5.5 times value. Solid mid-tier center.

Nikola Vucevic (ORL) vs. ATL ($7,900) Center

I tried telling you guys it would only be a matter of time before Vucevic got his feet wet and started to ball out like he used to. Tonight he gets a nice spot against the Hawks whom are dreadful against opposing centers. Vucevic’s last game vs the Hawks wasn’t anything to write home about as he only put up 31.1 FPTs but tonight will be a different story now that he got his groove back. No not Stella! Nikola!! Focus people! It’s a great matchup and it won’t be long before we see his price skyrocket. In Vucevic’s past 5 games he’s averaging 45.2 FPTs per game. He also averages almost 8 FPTs more at home and guess what? He’s home baby!!! Make him home in your lineups tonight!

Rudy Gobert (UTA) vs. DET ($8,000) Center

There should be a duel at center tonight and even though I’ve already mentioned four members of the Jazz, I am not telling you to stack the Jazz! They all have solid matchups tonight. I like Gobert much more than I like his opponent Andre Drummond tonight. The Pistons are 8th worst defensively against opposing centers and Gobert could be in for a solid game. He put up a stinker in LA against the Clippers but before that, his past 5 games he was averaging 46.6 FPTs per game. There are better values at center tonight but I can’t look past the matchup.

Ian Mahimi (WAS) vs. MIA ($4,400) Center

Need a flier at center tonight. Mahimi has a good matchup on paper at home against the Heat. I wouldn’t expect a homerun from him but he realistically has a ceiling of 23-25 FPTs if you need a cheap center to stack studs on this small slate. He’s been over 20 FPTs in 4 of his last 5 games. Solid value play.

Final Thoughts:

If KAT plays and faces no minutes restriction. I don’t mind if you play him. I’m done being cautious over injured players this year. Look at what De’Aaron Fox did to us when he returned and played 30 minutes!!

I’m ok with Wendell Carter Jr at $5,800. My gut tells me this could be a sneaky good pick.

I’m not playing Drummond because the Jazz are the best defensive team against centers in their last 5 games and I feel there are better values out there.

Gary Payton is a no no for me, I think he will see tons of Jimmy Butler tonight. If you like him, play him.

I like Carmelo a lot tonight at $5,300. Phoenix has been banged up lately and Melo shoots a ton.

I like Goran Dragic @ $5,200 vs Washington.

Markelle Fultz could be sneaky good tonight at only $4,800

Jordan McRae will have an easier time than Isaiah Thomas tonight against the Heat second unit, He’s only $4,600 and seeing minutes now. I feel he has more upside than Ish Smith.

Coby White is coming off a strong game and one has to wonder if the Bulls head coach has more confidence in White and he’s only $3,800 and would be facing the Bucks second unit.

Anfernee Simons is the main backup at point guard and shooting guard for the Blazers and has seen an uptick in minutes and he’s $3,700.

I also don’t mind Tim Frazier from the Pistons who’s getting the start and is only $3,600.

If anyone has any questions regarding tonight’s slate, feel free to contact me anytime.
