Spieth almost did it but came up short to a very game Jason Kokrak. It was cool seeing Kokrak when his second tournament in about a year. Now the Tour heads to Ohio, to Jack’s Place for the Memorial. It is another invitational type tournament with a field of 120 golfers with T65 and ties making the weekend. Once again, over half the field will make it to the weekend, so find that cut maker and roll. The course is challenging, and those that can grind out some pars while avoiding the bogies will thrive. Let’s see who the guys like this week for the weekly PGA OAD picks.

So the whole Texas narrative didn’t play out very well last week.  Scottie missed the cut, and we need a huge miracle even to sniff min-cash.  I’m throwing a hail mary to Kevin Streelman.  Why? Well, I doubt many play him.  He hasn’t missed a cut here since 2015 and made both last year at Jack’s place.  He is coming off a solid 20th last week and 8th the week before, where he was, for a short time, in the mix to win.  Best of luck this week!

Ruvy (@MichaelRuvolo) – Billy Horschel

I’m going with a Nicklaus course specialist. Already a winner on tour this year as well. He finished top 15 at both events at the Memorial last year. I’ll take Billy Horschel. I will need his irons to show up. He putts well on fast greens typically.

It is Billy Ho week!!!! Well hoping so, at least. He has not missed a but in quite some time, including a 40th last week and a 23rd at the PGA Championship. Let’s not forget he won at the Match Play too. He comes to a course where he has played exceptionally well, finishing 13th and 9th the last two times at the Memorial. Billy Ho is a Nicklaus specialist, making sense as Jack’s courses require certain shots. Billy Ho is a shot maker and great with his irons. Let’s get another strong feeling this week from Billy Ho.
