Pure carnage. That’s the best way I can describe THE PLAYERS, especially from an OAD perspective. Out of the five guys making picks, only Rob had a golfer make the cut with Jon Rahm. There was not a lot of movement in our yearly standings. This week the tour heads to PGA National for the Honda Classic for another gruesome test of golf. The field is one of, if not the worst field ever for a once heralded event. Regardless of field strength, the guys will make their weekly picks and hope to survive till next week’s WGC Match Play. For now, let’s see who the guys like with the 2021 Honda Classic PGA OAD Picks.

Bubba (@bdentrek) – Shane Lowry

Tommy Frickin’ Fleetwood lets us down in a big way. Every time he would battle back, he’d quickly implode on his way to a missed cut. We move on and try to find a cut maker this week. I almost took Sungjae Im, but he should be highly chalky, and I’ll save him for later in the year. Instead, I will take a chance on Shane Lowry. He had a nice 8th place finish last week at THE PLAYERS. He has made all three cuts when he has teed it up at the Honda, including a 21st place finish last year. Lastly, I like taking a chance on Lowry with the horrific wind that looks to be in play this week and the fact Lowry can play in the wind just fine.

Rob (@AllDayEvery365) – Talor Gooch

sWe picked up ground on everyone last week with Jon Rahm’s 330k and a ninth-place finish. It could have been a lot better if he played any sort of decent, but alas, I can only complain so long. The Honda seems like it is going to be a nightmare with the course and weather. Add that the field’s talent isn’t usually due to schedule; we’re just going to take the risk. Talor Gooch is our play. A guy who has made three straight cuts had an impressive Sunday and has made his last two cuts here at PGA National.

Kevin (@KevinsDelight) – Brendan Steele

Immediately I gravitated to Sungjae, Woodland, Steele, and Henley.  Gary is appealing, but COVID got him.  Sungjae can be saved.  Henley is all over the community. So I’ll go with the DEGUNITY and take STEEL. As I said on the POD, he’ll win.

Best of luck this week.  As always, feel free to ask any questions.   @kevinsdelight

Well, Webb completely flopped now, didn’t he? Back on the horse this week. I’m going with a guy who plays well historically in the wind, plays well historically at the Sony Open, and has been playing well recently. He also has a great history at this course with two 4th place finishes. I’m going with Brenden Steele this week. I bet him 55-1, and I will be backing him as my one and done in my main lineup.

Jesse (@DFSGolfGods) – Lee Westwood

Last week proved that golf is as unpredictable of a sport as there is.  So much chalk missed the cut, and my pick followed suit.  I’m way behind, so it’ll be challenging to make any kind of decent comeback.  This week I am using Lee Westwood.  Everyone knows how well he has played over the last couple of weeks.  He also hasn’t missed a cut here since 2010 in 7 attempts, with a fourth last year.  Best of luck!
