If you are reading this, thank you!  I hope you’ve been able to tail the plays to start to 2021 as we are up to $2,073 after TOC, SONY, and AmEx.  Harris English started the year with a W at Tournament of Champions, Jason Kokrak got us a 3-way chop for FRL at SONY, and Si Woo Kim brought us a nice payday of $1,375 last weekend at AmEx.  Let’s hope to continue the HOT start this week at Farmers.

Torrey Pines North and South are fantastic venues for Farmers.  The North is typically the easier of the two but is more difficult after the renovation from a few years ago.  The South will be host to the US Open in a few months and is played three times over the week for those who make the 36-hole cut.  Course History is still a significant factor for me here as we still don’t have a ton of recent form to rely on, but several players who played in Hawaii and the desert last week are all over my betting sheet this week.

Here we go….

Outright Bets:

Tony Finau ($25 to win $450):  If you follow me on Twitter, you know I struggle with this play.  I don’t like betting guys who can’t close the door come Sunday afternoon.  He’s due to get his 2nd W and could win a few times this year….Believe I said that in my write-up for TOC.  I hope this is the week!

Bubba Watson ($25 to win $1,000):  You’ll notice my card this week is full of guys I struggle to root for.  Never been much of a Bubba guy, but his CH is nice here!  I’ll take my chances as 40/1

Billy Horschel ($25 to win $1,250):  Decent run in Hawaii and real nice CH here made this an easy play.  Again, not a big Billy fan, as he burned me at WINDHAM last year…But in this game, you need to let go of past failures.  He’s the lead pony for POLO now; let’s hope he’s leading after 72 holes Sunday.

Gary Woodland ($25 to win $1,875):   This number is way too high.  Excellent start to the year for Gary at AmEx.  He also plays well in CALI.  This is purely a number play on a guy who can win anytime he tees it up.

Top 10:

Jason Day ($25 to win $100):  Not sure what to expect from J Day this week, but I do like his CH here enough to play him for a TOP 10.

Adam Scott ($25 to win $100):  I love Adam Scott this week for Draft Kings and will use him in many lineups.  A top 10 is very attainable for him; I prefer a Top 10 to a win betting wise.

Ryan Palmer ($25 to win $125):  Nice showing at TOC and good CH here.  Again, a guy who struggles to close the door on Sunday…. But can easily secure at Top 10 for us.

Jason Kokrak ($25 to win $163):  3 Top 25’s here in 4 attempts since 2016.  It plays well in California and can easily bag a TOP 10.  Like, Kokrak a lot this week in Draft Kings too.

Charles Howell III ($25 to win $188):   Shocker to see CH3 miss the cut last week as he’s notorious for bagging a lot of cash on the West Coast.  I like him to bounce back here!

Head 2 Head:

RORY MCILROY -1.5 ($50 to win $58) vs. Xander Schauffele:  If you are a CH person, then this is a TAP IN….Rory has been great at Torrey Pines, while X has missed the cut 4 of his five times here with his best finish a T25.  Way too good to pass this one up.

MARC LEISHMAN ($50 to win $53) vs. Will Zalatoris:  Leish loves Torrey, and you get him +$ vs. a young guy trying to prove himself on TOUR.  Maybe a trap, but I’ll bite!

TONY FINAU ($63 to win $50) vs. Hideki Matsuyama:  Like both these guys this week.  Neither can putt worth a shit….But I’ll take the guy who I like to win the event…

First Round Leader (FRL):

No plays this week….Get back at it next week in Phoenix!

$388 at risk to start the week.  It should be a lot of fun with the great field—best of luck to you all.
