What a weekend from Collin Morikawa at the WGC. Just pure domination. Viktor, Brooks, and others performed well, but Morikawa cruised to victory at the Concession. Now the tour heads to Arnie’s Place, Bay Hill, for the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Once a top event for the pros, it now has a lesser field due to scheduling. With the West Coast swing, the WGC, and then the Players next week, many of the pros are taking the week off to rest up. There may not be all the elites like a few weeks ago at the Genesis, but there are still 25 of the Top 50 in the world, including many Euro Tour regulars. It will be a fun weekend, and the crew will get you ready with the picks they like with the weekly PGA OAD picks.

Once I selected Xander as my OAD last week after the Cantlay WD, it was well known that it wouldn’t work out very well. He didn’t play up to his potential, and I’ve fallen further behind. This week I will be using the Sneaks McSneakerton pick from the Always Pressing Podcast. Kevin Na is the pick. He had some really good finishes a few years back at the API and played well as of late, especially last weekend. Best of luck!

I really should take Rory, but for some reason, I want to save him for later in the season. I am looking forward to watching Rory host the trophy now, but I will stick with my man Franny. After a rough go after the Masters collapse last season, Franny is getting things going again. He moved to the USA full time, and his game is finally coming into form. He has made all four cuts this season, including an 8 at the Genesis, 10 at the Farmers, and 8 at the AmEx. He comes to Bay Hill to a tournament he has played very well at in the past. Franny is seven for seven on made cuts which include winning two years ago and a 7, 9, and 5 place finish. He loves this place and seems like my pivot this week of the chalky Rory McIlroy.

Lord Tyrell wasn’t at his sharpest around the greens last week and cost himself some dough late Sunday after a charge. We go with a countryman of his this week on Matt Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick will look for his maiden PGA Tour win this week at Arnie’s place two straight top finishes at the WGC and Genesis with a continued improvement in his irons.
Kevin (@KevinsDelight) – Rory McIlroy
Last year we won here with Hatton. I would like to go back to him, but I’m all in on Rory. Not much to say here, but last four years, his worst finish is 6th. Nice week at Concession, and T2G game is solid. Just keep wedges out of his hand, and we cash a W this week.
Ruvy (@MichaelRuvolo) – Sungjae Im
Hatton kind of flopped last week. It started very promising but faltered on day two and day three and finished strong in round 4 to get a top 25. This week I’m going with the sweet spot range of 20-1/40-1. I’m going with Sungjae Im. Sungjae, after a very extensive layoff for him of 2 weeks, performed pretty decently. Not the best Sunday but still respectable. At 25-1 in the betting market, I will bet it and take him as my one and done this week.
