What an awesome week at THE RIV. Great golf and a great finish with Adam Scott hosting the trophy. That was not just a big win for Scott, but also for Rob as he picked Scott and got a nice 7 figure payday. Catapulting Rob into the lead. This week we have the big boys in Mexico for the no-cut, WGC Mexico, but also have to pick the alternate event in Puerto Rico. Let’s see who the guys like for both events this week with the 2020 WGC Mexico and Puerto Rico Open PGA OAD Picks.

WGC- The Riv was awesome as always, hell we even had CH III make the cut after nearly being DFL after the 1st round. I’ve punted this segment and it shows. No need to pick a stud here. I’ll go Cam Smith who already won this year but has played like pure crap since the W. No cut here and a T-6 here last year have me loving this Aussie. If you aren’t punting play DJ, Rory, or JT.
Puerto Rico- HOMER ALERT….Johnson Wagner for the W. I quickly looked at Cam Davis to pair with Cam Smith but CAM’T do it…also looked at McNealy and Hadley. But went Wags! Best of luck this week.
Well the Bubba pick last week was as bad as it could be. Makes sense that the guy who has 3 wins at that course and is coming in with good form misses the cut because he can’t putt.
WGC- On to the first double pick week of the year. First for the WGC Mexico I will be using Rory McIlroy. The money to be made here is too great to not take a top guy IMO. Rory is coming in with 5 straight top 5’s on tour including 2 this calendar year. He has played this course well in his two appearances, which includes a second place finish to DJ last year.
Puerto Rico- For the Puerto Rico Open the strategy will change some. This is an event I’m willing to punt and use a guy that most likely has no chance to win in any of the “normal” events on tour. Matthew NeSmith is the pick. He is fresh off a solid 11th place finish at Pebble and has made 6 straight cuts on tour. He is an up and coming Korn Ferry Grad who can make some noise in PR. Best of luck this week!
Well Finau made the cut but blah after that! No need to rehash a 50th place finish.
WGC- This week I’m going strictly Gut mode for WGC and I’m going with Rory Mcilroy to take down the title in Mexico. Was close last week and just seems like he’s 1 good putting week away from blowing away the field
Puerto Rico- For the alternate field Puerto Rico open does anyone have a clue here? No, because no one really cares. Although the field is better this year than it has been in the past which is fun to see. I’m going to take a stab with twitter friend of the DFS people and go with Grayson Murray. He’s actually been playing ok and he has won an alternate field event before. Maybe he can get a 2nd.
WGC- Well, we have to pick 2 this week, so let’s start with the big boys at the WGC Mexico. I will be going back to my pick from last year at this event. A golfer who is NUMBER 1 in the world. He has been a Top 5 machine over the last handful of events. His course history here is great with a 2nd place last season and a 7th in 2017. Give me all the RORY MCILROY to host the trophy this week.
Puerto Rico- What a field, right? I will be keeping this simple by going with a player we’ve been using a ton in the $6K range most week. He has made 6 straight cuts on tour including 11th in Pebble, 17th at the Am Ex and 14th at the RSM. Those events are all “lesser” fields and birdie fests. We are at another birdie fest in Puerto Rico. So give me MATHEW NESMITH.
