Congrats to Dustin Johnson for wrapping up the FedEx Cup and just dominating the last month or so of PGA Tour action. With the U.S. Open this week, many did not make the trip west to this week’s action to Wine Country for the Safeway Open. It still is a fun field with birdies to be had by many. It is a strong event for golfers to make a breakthrough win. Let’s see who the guys like this week with the 2020 Safeway Open PGA OAD Picks.

Kevin (@KevinsDelight) – Jordan Spieth

We’re headed to wine country where I’ll be making a D-runk pick. Congrats to DJ on winning the FedEx Cup.

This week I’m going, Jordan Spieth.  Thought about a few others and flipped a coin between Jordan and Joel.  After the first flip landed on Jordan (heads) I flipped again….Spieth won 9/10 coin flips so he’s my choice.

Best of luck!

Ruvy (@MichaelRuvolo) – Brendan Steele

I’m going with Mr. Safeway Open himself. Brendan Steele. Not going to overthink this week. He has been playing very well and he owns this course. As simple as that for me this week. Not going to give you some long drawn out reason, just a simple he’s my guy this week.

Jesse (@DFSGolfGods) – Brendan Steele

For the Safeway Open, I will be using Brendan Steele.  He hasn’t missed a cut here in his last 6 starts and has 2 wins in that time frame.  Mr. Man of Steele has made 6 straight cuts on tour with a couple of top 15s sprinkled in there.  This is the only place to use him in my opinion.  Best of luck!

Bubba (@bdentrek) – Harold Varner III

With the U.S. Open next week, this week’s PGA Tour action at the Safeway Open is a lesser field than most. Don’t let that fool you though, still a lot of strong talent and a lot of birdie makers. I will be rolling with a golfer who had his best year on tour in 2020 and has had some decent history at Silverado. HV3 is 5 for 5 on made cuts at the Safeway. He has finished 17th and 14th in the last two seasons. I look for HV3 to break through and pick up the W this week.

Rob (@AllDayEvery365) – Sergio Garcia

I’ll take Sergio because he’ll MC and I won’t have to worry about it over the weekend
