Good bye West Coast and welcome to the Florida Swing. Last week we had 2 events and some big money made thanks to Rory McIlroy, while others struggled a bit. Rob still holds the lead but others are keeping it close. This week we head to the Bear Trap for The Honda Classic. It’s an event that can provide carnage everywhere and making the cut is quite the accomplishment. Lets see who the guys like this week with the 2020 Honda Classic PGA OAD Picks.

Welcome to Florida, home of the Florida swing, many PGA TOUR Professionals, and The DFS OPEN…

Immediately I gravitate to Rickie, Woodland, and Henley.  Gary is appealing but I’m more likely to punt again this week.  I’ve been all about some punting this segment since I’ve sucked. So why deviate from my initial gut pick.  Hogan said trust your gut so I will. Gimmie Russ as he was the first name I mentioned in our SLACK…Get the invite from Bubba, it’s 🔥🔥🔥.  I’ve already had one of my 3 coffees for the day and visited Ted Potter twice this morning. So I’m confident Henley isn’t just my ass talking shit.

Best of luck this week.  As always feel free to ask any questions.   @kevinsdelight

Went big gun with Rory last week and came up a little short. I have been good at picking the FRL as my OAD pick. Too bad no bonus points for that.

This week I debated a couple big guns knowing very well long shots win this tourney quite often. I settled on past champion Rickie Fowler for my OAD this week. Not sure I’ll ever get Rickie at lower odds than 14-1 rest of the year. This field is lacking in Star talent so I understand using a lower tiered player. I’m going to go with a big gun and hope for a win. Fowler can win this tourney as he has shown that by winning here in the past and coming 2nd last year. If he stays out of trouble early I think he will be there come Sunday.

Rickie Fowler – After DJ’s lackluster week and Alex Noren’s final four holes, we get to the Honda. Needing a better bounce-back week, I’m going with Rickie here. A second, MC, and a first his last three tries out, this course just spells doom for players with the amount of water around. Rick might not be in the best form, but he’s never going to be a 12/1 outright the rest of the year, so I’m hoping some carnage happens again to get a good result.

It’s hard to find a stat he struggles with here at the Honda, leading in T2G, DK points, and second in ball striking. Hoping that Fowler gets a breath of fresh air getting back into his home state after a lackluster California start to his season.

This week I am going with a Euro player who is used to playing on courses with tighter fairways and some potential wind. He is 2 for 2 in made cuts at the Honda, but only a 49th and 53rd. He is coming in off a 29th in Mexico, but an 11th and 13th in his previous two Euro Tour events. I am gonna save some of the big guns, but go with a proven winner. The defending British Open champion in Shane Lowry.

Well the Rory pick didn’t quite work out as I would’ve liked.  I really needed a win, but again his putter held him back. If you still have him I would be looking to use him very soon, because he is going to win soon.  On to the Honda Classic and the beginning of my favorite time of the year, the Florida swing. I am going to semi punt this and take Daniel Berger this week.  He has made the cut the last 2 years here and is coming off 2 straight top 10s for the first time since July 2017, which happened to be after a win. Anyway, he is my pick, best of luck!
