Another wild weekend on the PGA Tour wrapped last week as Francesco Molinari shot -8 on Sunday to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational. There were a lot of big names atop the leaderboard, as well as quite a Euro feel. Bubba and Chet both picked Molinari and both enjoyed over $1.6M in earnings. Kevin had a decent week with Rory. While Jesse and Rob got small winnings as well. Bubba still stands atop the leaderboard but there’s still along ways to go. This week we head to THE PLAYERS where there is over a $12M purse on the line, including $2.25M to the winner. There can be some major changes to the OAD standings this week, so let’s see who the guys like in the 2019 THE PLAYERS PGA OAD Picks.

Rob (@AllDayEvery365) – Dustin Johnson

No time to get cute with the increase in purse money here. Dustin has continued to improve here after being dismal earlier in his career. With the course not truly playing like it usually would, course history shouldn’t have as big of an impact. Last 50 rounds, he’s 1st SG: OTT and 4th SG: APP. It should be no surprise that as his approach game at Sawgrass has improved, so has his standing. I’m hoping people save him for August or another major, but I’m all about the #1 player in the world.

Bubba (@bdentrek) – Tommy Fleetwood

This week I look to build off my 2nd win of the year and 3rd $1M+ week. I will be using my love for Molinari and completing MOLIWOOD!!!! Tommy Fleetwood comes into the Players in great form. He finished T3 last week and a T19 the week before. He’s 2/2 on cuts made at TPC Sawgrass including a T7 last week. On a course where scrambling can come into play he is 3rd in this field. Iron play and more importantly accuracy and a great approach game are clutch. Fleetood is one of the tops on tour in his approach game. We know he’s always good for one solid round and then usually a dud. If he avoids the dud there’s a great chance he leaves with that $2.25M purse on Sunday.

Chet (@AtomicBets) – Henrik Stenson

Last week was really good with Molinari giving me a OAD win and I had him 45/1 betting. But you are only as good as your next pick, so let’s move onto the “5th Major”.  I’ll simplify my strategy this week into one statistic, Strokes Gained: Approach. It’s absolutely mind blowing how much that one statistic has mattered from year to year at Sawgrass compared to the other Stroked Gained categories. It was only one tournament and the Swede has struggled so far this year until last week but Stenson was 3rd in SG: Approach last week and has historically been a tremendous ball striker. He also had gone deep in the Players Championship in many occasions including a win in 2009. I think we are going to see Henrik continue to trend back into the elite golfer that he is after the good (not great) showing last week.

Jesse (@DFSGolfGods) – Justin Thomas

For the Players Championship I will be using Justin Thomas.  He has a mix of course history and current form that could equal a win.  With $2.2 million to the winner this is a week to burn an elite golfer who has the chance to win.

Kevin (@KevinsDelight) – Tommy Fleetwood

The Players Championship is a CRAZY field.  Just about everyone inside the Top 100 is pegging it this week at TPC Sawgrass.  A Major type payday is at stake for the winner and you won’t want to miss the cut.  Sergio, A. Scott come to mind but I’m terrified by the iffy putter from these 2.  I’ve used Rickie already who I feel is another solid play.  With a ton of bullets left in my gun, I’ll use a big name but not DJ, JT, Tiger….Gimmie Tommy Fleetwood to finish in the Top 10 at minimum around Sawgrass…..Love his game here this week!
