Well, we’ve finally made it. It’s Masters week. The Valero Texas Open was won by Corey Conners, who Monday qualified, and punched his ticket to Augusta. Bubba put up a $0 thanks to Billy Ho. While, the others all did really well, with Chet’s Ryan Moore pick leading the way with a 3rd place finish. Now, to Augusta. We have an 87 player field where T50 and ties plus anyone within 10 strokes of the lead make the cut. It’s going to be an amazing week, so let’s see who the guys like in the 2019 THE MASTERS PGA OAD Picks.

Chet (@AtomicBets) – Rory McIlroy
I’ve been saving Rory for the Masters. He’s firing on all cylinders and I can’t imagine many scenarios where he doesn’t finish top 5 this week. I should have used Rory at the Players (he was my alternate to Stenson – LOL) but can’t dwell on the past. I’m on a pretty nice run with Moore finishing 3rd last week and am one big win away from getting into the $ in the overall OAD. I think Rory gets me there.

For the 2019 Masters Tournament I will be using Justin Rose. This is more of a have to than want to. If I had Rory or DJ left I would use them. Either way Rose has great course history and a legit chance to win this week. With so much OAD money on the line getting a winner this week should shoot you up the leaderboard.
Rob (@AllDayEvery365) – Tiger Woods
I’m going way outside of the box here and taking a five time winner who hasn’t won here in a decade. TOO BAD. I’m not going to sit through this weekend wishing the GOAT didn’t win. People complain he hasn’t won since ’05; didn’t realize going 20-for-21 in cuts made was a bad thing with 11 T5’s. This is the only thing he’s cared about since the PGA last year, which oh by the way, he finished second.
The Masters isn’t about hot putters; it’s about guys who put themselves in the right positions to make putts. What guy is better?
If you need stats, here you go: Tiger is sixth in approach his last 24 rounds in difficult conditions, second all-time approach for lightning greens (Masters isn’t recorded remember…), and third in windy conditions. He hasn’t lost strokes around the green since September last year (a key stat people don’t look at with the amount of green run-offs at Augusta, and his last tournament was the first time he lost strokes on his approach (Players, which he dunked two on 17, hard to come back from that). I think I just sold myself on Tiger twice, again.

Spring has sprung and so has the 2019 Golf season for many. Azaleas are blooming, pollen is flying through the Carolina blue sky, and egg salad is being talked about nationwide, not just in the south. The start of the Golf season has been a real great. Tiger is playing well, Rory is hot, DJ has won, Phil got a W, and big guns continue to shine. Headed into Masters week it’s hard to think of anyone better in the world than Rory right now. I said before the API I liked Rory and Rose at Augusta and I’d use one at API and one at ANGC. I used Rors in Orlando so I’ll use Rosie here. Go Justin Rose!!
Bubba (@bdentrek) – Justin Rose
Well, it seems to be a common trend this week, but it better come up Rosey. Justin Rose has played some excellent golf to start the season. Rose has a T9 and T8 in his last 2 events, plus a dominating win at Torrey Pines earlier this season. He has great course form at Augusta, a major factor in my picks this week. He’s made all 13 cuts here including 5 Top 10’s. His last 5 years he’s gone T12/2/T10/T2/T14. He’s been light’s out at Augusta. If the wind kicks up that shouldn’t phase Rose as well. He is a horse for the course and coming in with great form. Give me all the Justin Rose.
