The Byron Nelson tune up week is in the books and now we head to the 2nd major of the PGA Tour season. We head to the ever challenging Bethpage Black course for the PGA Championship. It’s obviously a loaded field and should be an awesome weekend of golf. Let’s see who the guys like this week in the 2019 PGA Championship PGA OAD Picks.

Happy PGA Championship week!  As a PGA Member I hold this MAJOR in extremely high regard.  I’m uncertain about the date change but hope it bodes well for the event and PGA as a whole.

Too bad to hear about Justin Thomas as it’s easy to root for him having a PGA Member in his family, dad is a PGA Professional in Kentucky for those of you living under a rock for the past 4-5 years.

I’m going with a big gun this week.  DJ is my early favorite. I do like Justin Rose, X, Rickie, and Rahm but I’m going DJ this week.

Jesse (@DFSGolfGods) – Tommy Fleetwood

For the PGA Championship I will be using Tommy Fleetwood.  While he’s had a weird year I think he can finish near the top of this leaderboard, especially if the winning score is closer to par than -10.

Bubba (@bdentrek) – Brooks Koepka

Bethpage Black is going to play extremely long. Accuracy will be extremely important as well. You’ll have to navigate this week like you are playing a challenging US Open course. Well, Brooks Koepka checks all those blocks and I’ll be goin with Big Brooks this week to win the PGA Championship.

Rob (@AllDayEvery365) – Justin Rose

Maybe contrarian, maybe not. People seem to forget that Justin Rose was playing some of the best golf in the world before the Masters and his MC. He didn’t know “where is game was” at the Wells Fargo and shows up for a third place gaining five strokes on his approach. I’ve fully bought into a Masters/Bethpage comparison at this point. Lots of elevation changes, need a good off the tee game, and putting styles are the same. I’m into course type comparisions, not exactly course history, but the last four winners at Bethpage (Tiger, Lucas Glover, Watney and PReed) all have successful track records at Augusta:

Tiger – GOAT

Glover – Hasn’t played since 2k14

Watney – 7/7 made cuts, including 4 top 25s

PReed- 2k18 Winner

Right to left ball flights go a long way here, with that shape fitting a majority of the holes. A lot of people are going to be on Brooks and Tiger for good reason, but Rose is sneaky good in hard set-ups, which Bethpage is going to force this week. Enjoy the week folks.

Chet (@AtomicBets) – Justin Rose

Hey I finally had a guy make the cut last week! That’s progress. I’ll be selecting Rose this week after he flashed good short game form at Quail a couple weeks ago. We all know he can get his long game going at any given time. Major #2 for the Brit!
