Well the wet and wild weekend in Monterey is over with Phil Mickelson winning his 5th career Pebble Beach Pro-Am. The win by Phil gives Bubba his first win of the season and moves him from 5th place to 1st. Chet had the next best finish with Jason Day and sits in second behind Bubba. Kevin, Jesse and Rob had players make the cut but overall not great production and they sit 3rd thru 5th. The PGA Tour heads to Southern California for the Genesis Open. It is an absolutely loaded field and we should be in for a treat at the legendary Riviera Golf Course. Let’s see who the guys like this week with the 2019 Genesis Open PGA OAD Picks.

Bubba (@bdentrek) – Cam Smith

This week I’ll be going go away from some of the big names, which isn’t fun and doesn’t feel great. But for those that listened to the Always Pressing PGA DFS POD this week you will know just how much I like Cam Smith this week. Smith is coming into this week in great form. Smith has made 7 of 7 cuts this season. He’s coming off a 15th at the Waste Management and a 9th at the Farmers. He has made 3 of 3 cuts at Riviera including a 6th last year. He can bomb with the best of them and has a great approach game which is needed at Riviera, especially with these wet conditions. Hopefully this is the week the Aussie gets a big PGA Tour win.

Jesse (@DFSGolfGods) – Xander Schauffele

This week I will be using Xander Schauffele as my One and Done.  He finished 9th here last year in his first appearance and has 3 top 10s in his last 4 starts.  Those 3 top 10s include 2 wins. Per the usual when I mention his name I will say that I never get him right, but I think this is a great place to use him this year.

Chet (@AtomicBets) – Dustin Johnson

The best player in the world in my mind heads to a track where he is flat out dominant. Approximately a quarter of his rounds at Riviera are 66 or better. He won this tournament in similar conditions to this expected this week by several strokes. I expect him to play DOMINANT golf.

Kevin (@kevinsdelight) – Cam Smith

Ahh back to normalcy on the PGA TOUR!  A 36-hole cut, a full field of Professionals, and a classic track.  Only forecasted issue may be the awful Cali weather. Let’s hope we can get through this week with little to no interruption.  Gus I’m targeting this week obviously include Bubba, DJ, Rory, to name a few big guns. My only concern is the weather. I’d rather take a flier here than waste a big name who could miss the cut with awful early weather.  I’m going to go with a guy who is playing well and has nice course history. He may be in the top 3-4 picked but I’m ok with it this week. I’ll go Cam Smith and save big names for later. Best of luck.

Rob (@AllDayEvery365) – Rory McIlroy

Rors has b2b 20th place finishes and is going to get the type of course he loves: long and wet. He’s first off the tee in the tournament, third in proximity from 200+ in wet conditions, and oh yeah, has b2b top 5’s this season. He gets the Tiger pairing Thurs/Friday, but Riveria can hide the crowds so I’m expecting Rory to be engaged early, especially playing with his other buddy JT. He’s due for a win.
